This post at salon.com suggests that “If there’s one thing professional wrestlers, relief pitchers and politicians have in common, it’s knowing that a well-chosen theme song can say more about who you are and what you believe in than a thousand speeches.” Therefore Hillary Clinton asks people to help choose her campaign theme song (here).
Senator Clinton’s theme song campaign may be wacky and odd, but we aren’t totally humorless (at least most of the time). So imagine that feministlawprofs had a theme song. What would it be?
Here are some possibilities. Vote for your favorite.
Great idea, with a few very good suggesions. Is it too late to add ideas? I would vote for Sleater-Kinney, “Start Together”; Le Tigre, “Tres Bien”; Bjork, “Human Behavior”; Sinead O’Connor, “Feel So Different”; Hole, “Boys On the Radio”: or maybe even June Tabor’s cover of “Valentine’s Day is Over.”

Good heavens! Isn’t anyone familiar with Joan Towers’ “Fanfare for the Uncommon Woman?” It’s a very nice rejoinder to Copland’s great “Fanfare for the Common Man.”
So funny — I was *just* talking to another FeministLawProf about the show “Electra Woman & Dyna Girl” as well as my other Saturday morning favorite, “Isis.”
And I just heard “I Am Woman” by Helen Reddy yesterday in the car and, as I proudly sang it to my two daughters (3 and 6, so they don’t know yet to be moritifed by my behavior), I was reminded of what a great song it was.

I learned about your song contest on TaxProf Blog and suggest a late entry, at least for write-in. It’s a folk song, I understand from the depression era, titled “Don’t Put Taxes on the Women.” How appropriate can you get?! You can find a current version of the song sung by Gibb Todd on his album ” Goin’ Home” released by Compass.
I’ve located two different 30-second sound clips of it, sure to stir your soul.
