it seems more enlightened, less biased research is needed or a more neutral approach. To many of us in the metal arts, the term faggot morphed (many years ago) from a kind of weld. Same on Same metal welded in a certain way as opposed to other welds. One can see how the word took on modern meaning from a former use.
