“Intellectual Subway 101”

Feminist and litigator Nicole L. Black has a post at Sui Generis discussing the strange news about a professor at the University of Connecticut School of Law, and his decision to show a video clip from a film called”Really, Really Pimpin’ in Da South”to his Remedies class during a discussion of U.S. v. Charles Floyd Pipkins, a.k.a. Sir Charles, and Andrew Moore, Jr., a.k.a. Batman. As she notes, though the specifics may differ, too many law students endure this type of sexism in class.

  1. Bridget Crawford says:

One of the weirdest twists in the matter comes from a news report from the Connecticut Law Journal (here http://www.law.com/jsp/nlj/PubArticleNLJ.jsp?id=1193043820557&rss=nlj) that this prof was scheduled to teach Feminist Legal Theory in the Spring. Is he a sexist masquerading as a feminist? Is he a sexist feminist? I can’t make any sense of this.

  2. I just looked him up – not only was he scheduled to teach that course this spring, but he’s taught it several years in a row already. His course list is here.
