Harriet the Spy was — and still is — my favorite book from my childhood. Misunderstood by her self-absorbed parents, a slave to her favorite food, part of the sometimes-too-smart-for-their-own-good geek crowd . . . Harriet saved me a lot of pre-teen anxiety and fueled my love affair with books. I read it over and over. I still have my original copy.
