I can relate. Having many friends means dealing with many different lives and attitudes. Working with some close gay friends we made an agreement that since I was straight and they were gay, we would alternate venues when we went out to party, Straight bar one night, gay the next time. Many of my straight friends would ask me if I wasn’t afraid someone might get the wrong idea about me. I would say “I’m not afraid if they know I party!” “That’s not what I mean” they would say. “I know what you meant” I chastised. “Grow up!” I would tell them.
