    Because, let’s face it, sex roles are funny! But note how the character of Geraldine actually discovers her true self and needs at odds with her sex role. Because humor, even in nominally accepting convention, takes it all with moderation and the proverbial grain of salt. Also, you can give points for the happy little girl empowered by learning how to ride her bicycle, even if the only careerist and athletes presented are all male.
