Banning camping would require patrols by boat which is expensive. Stoneplace Trail is a 8.5 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Tallulah Falls, Georgia that features a waterfall and is rated as moderate. Easy to go out for another out and back because you know the going out part is easy. You can also fish off the banks for free. Also they are always alone so you don,t have to worry about having neighbors. The power house looks really cool. I do not agree that regulated camping would be a “Disney-like” experience, however. Motorists should be aware that four-wheel drive vehicles are strongly encouraged on this steep, rugged access road. Not likely to happen. Lake Tugalo offers good fishing for bass and bluegills and supports one of Georgia’s best walleye populations. Because of Lake Tugalo’s rugged access roads, vehicles with four-wheel drive that trailer small boats are strongly recommended. It is the fifth lake in a six-lake series created by hydroelectric dams operated by Georgia Power that follows the original course of the Tallulah River. If you can deal with lightweight backpack style camping with no fire and not a lot of flat space there are a lot more options. Camping problems??
